Our Commitment to Excellence

At our school, we are deeply committed to providing the best learning and teaching experiences for our students. Our approach is guided by the principles outlined in the College Strategic Plan, which focuses on achieving "Best learning and best teaching" through innovative and evidence-based pedagogies.

Professional Learning for Teachers

Our teachers are at the heart of our educational excellence. Each educator participates in fortnightly professional learning (PL) sessions, which are designed to:

  • Strengthen Collective Efficacy: By working in small cross-curricular groups, teachers collaborate to share best practices and develop new strategies.
  • Maintain Currency in Best Pedagogy: Our PL sessions ensure that teachers are up-to-date with the latest educational research and technological advancements.
  • Meet Accreditation Requirements: Teachers are supported in maintaining their professional registration and accreditation as required by NSW standards.

In 2023, we focused on developing a whole-school approach to explicit writing instruction. This included professional learning for Learning Support Officers and the creation of classroom posters to visually support learning across departments. These resources will be displayed in all classrooms from Term 1, 2024.

Data-Driven Teaching and Learning

We believe in the power of data to enhance student learning outcomes. Our teachers collect and analyze various forms of student data, including results from ACER testing, NAPLAN, and school-based assessments. This data-driven approach helps us:

  • Identify Students Needing Extra Assistance: Using learning data reports from teachers, parents, and health professionals, we support students in accessing the NSW curriculum.
  • Develop Targeted Strategies: By understanding the academic profiles of students, teachers can tailor their instruction to meet individual needs.

Recognition and Achievements

In 2023, our HSC data showed a continuation of the trend in enhancing student learning outcomes, with all eligible students attaining their HSC, and most qualifying for an ATAR and gaining university entry. Our College was ranked 61st overall and 8th among Catholic girls’ schools in the state.

Our approach to learning and teaching is dynamic and responsive to the needs of our students and the evolving educational landscape. We are proud of the progress we have made and remain dedicated to fostering an environment where both students and teachers thrive.
